Containers

Ocean freight is built around the shipping container. Understanding equipment types helps you plan volume, weight limits and port handling for import and export moves.

Standard dry equipment

  • 20ft GP — Approx. 33 CBM, suitable for dense cargo; common for LCL groupage.
  • 40ft GP — Approx. 67 CBM; cost-effective for larger volumes.
  • 40ft High Cube — Extra height for bulky but lighter cargo.

Special equipment

Open-top, flat rack, reefer and tank containers are available on request for out-of-gauge, temperature-controlled or liquid cargo. Lead times and routing may differ from standard dry boxes.

FCL vs LCL

Full container load (FCL) means you book an entire container. Less than container load (LCL) means your cargo shares space in a consolidated container — ideal for smaller shipments where a full box is not economical.
